In today’s world, cell phone use is unavoidable, and we can’t help but be exposed to other sources of electromagnetic radiation such as microwave ovens, televisions, radios, Wi-Fi routers, computers and laptops, power lines, and a lot more. With the prevalence of electromagnetic radiation almost everywhere, what can we do if we are concerned with the health issues this exposure may potentially bring? If you are worried about electromagnetic radiation and its effects on your body, here are some of the top ways you can reduce these effects.
Keep it at a distance
One proven way you can reduce the effects of EMFs on your body is to keep certain gadgets at a distance. This is particularly true for cell phones and laptops. For example, rather than keeping your cell phone in your pocket, you can keep it in your purse or bag. If you have to use your cell phone to make a call, you can simply put it on speaker mode. When working on your laptop, it would be best to keep it away from your body on a desk rather than place it on your lap, especially if it is still connected to a socket or power source. If you have to work on your laptop for some time, use a mouse and separate keyboard as well.
Make use of ‘earthing’
Earthing is also known as ‘grounding’ and it’s a way for us to connect to the earth and its power directly. What you can do is simply walk on the earth in your bare feet – such as a beach or a nearby patch of grass or a park. By grounding or earthing, you can eliminate the dormant voltage coming from sources of electricity from your body. Besides, it feels good on the feet, too.
Keep your home protected
You can also protect your home from unwanted exposure to EMFs by doing some simple things. For instance, you can unplug your electrical appliances when they are not being used. This is simple but quite effective at limiting your exposure to EMFs. Another thing you can do is keep your own bedroom free from appliances that emit EMFs, such as televisions, radios, electric-powered alarm clocks, and so on. When it comes to lighting, you can also protect yourself by opting for fluorescent or halogen lighting. If you have Wi-Fi in your home, it’s important to unplug it if you are not using it as well, especially when you sleep.
Consume more superfoods
There are certain foods which can help protect your body from constant EMF exposure as well, and these include pecans, pomegranates, asparagus, prunes, blueberries, walnuts, broccoli, dates, cauliflower, spirulina, and noni fruit. Some herbs also serve as great protection, such as cilantro, basil, rosemary, and spices such as cinnamon.
EMF protection can also be provided by products such as pendants and stones and other special jewellery, radiation shields which are specially-designed for use with cell phones, and more.
